Comparison FAQ – Why Guests Choose Overland RV Park
How do you compare to larger resorts like Boomtown USA or Gulf Coast RV Resort?
Larger resorts offer pools, lakes, and gyms — great if you’re on vacation. We focus on what plant workers actually need: quiet, affordable, close-to-work sites with full hookups and WiFi. No crowded facilities, no resort noise, just rest after your shift. And our pricing is lower: $300 first month / $490 ongoing (utilities + WiFi included) vs. their $450–$750/month + extra electric.
Why not just stay at a hotel or extended-stay apartment?
Hotels cost $80–$150/night ($2,400–$4,500/month). Apartments often require credit checks, deposits, and 12-month leases. We’re no-credit-check, $200 deposit (refundable), move-in ready, and you bring your own home (or rent one from us). You save hundreds a month and keep your own space.
What makes you different from other local RV parks (Hidden Lake, Texas Star, Dot’s, etc.)?
Many parks are basic or have mixed reviews on cleanliness and maintenance. We’re actively upgrading: new concrete pads, skirting on mobile homes, and a focus on keeping things quiet and picked-up. Our $300 first-month promo is the lowest entry in the area, and our furnished 3BR/2BA house ($2,000/month) gives families or shared workers more space than typical room rentals or studios.
Do you have the same amenities as the big resorts?
Not yet — we’re not trying to be a vacation resort. We prioritize essentials: reliable hookups, strong WiFi, and a peaceful wooded setting. We’re adding laundry and other conveniences soon. Most workers tell us they’d rather save $200–$400/month and have quiet than pay for a pool they never use.
Are you more expensive or cheaper than competitors?
Cheaper on most comparable options.
Basic RV sites: $490/mo (ours) vs. $500–$750/mo (others, often + electric).
Furnished housing: $2,000/mo for full 3BR/2BA house (ours) vs. $2,200–$3,600/mo for similar in Beaumont.
You get more privacy and space for less.
Why choose Overland if you’re a plant worker on a short assignment?
We understand short stays. No long leases, no credit hassles, quick background check only. Move in fast, rest quietly, and save money compared to hotels or shared housing. Many workers stay 2–6 months and renew because it’s simple and close to the plants.
What if I just want the cheapest option?
We’re already one of the lowest in the area for full-hookups utilities-included sites ($300 promo / $490 ongoing). If you see lower prices elsewhere, check what’s included — many charge extra for electric, WiFi, or have hidden fees.
